Combined cabinets without doors in 3D
Post by northbay on Feb 26th, 2015, 09:18am

I'm doing a library, using the combined face frame method. When viewing in 3D, the cabinet side appears on the unit that has the stile set to zero. When doors are applied this is hidden in 3D. To remedy this, set the scribe to a negative number and then the side will be hidden behind the adjacent joining cabinets stile, and asure for a proper 3D appearance. I haven't checked if this messes up the bottom and top lengths in the parts list, but it makes the 3D image presentable for combined open shelving units. Maybe this is a known tip and trick, but nothing came up in the search I did.

I would add an image but I can't figure that trick out.

Nice! I had thought of not creating a side in the 3d if it's stile width was zero but that would probably lead to other problems undecided

Nope, from the help file:
Quote:
Scribe can be applied to the leftmost and rightmost cabinets accordingly. If a cabinet has scribe applied to an interior side, it will be ignored.
