This special update lets you select a cabinet in the elevation view by double left clicking it. You can then drag it around and resize it with the resize handles.

Single right clicking will unselect the selected cabinet.

Double right clicking on a cabinet opens it's editing window.

[Added to regular update]

Let me know what you think.

Rob can you add the cabinets ending location on the lower info bar. I use the location assist feature to place cabinet I import from my cabinet library. Thanks Jim.

I like the idea and the feature, but I am so used to opening the edit window with double left click.

I like the idea of double right click to drag.

Guess it will just take some getting used to.

Look at the very bottom of the screen. It tells you there.

I didn't think the Location Assist feature worked with importing cabinets. Does it fill in the location for you? If so, why do you need the end location added?

I think we may be thinking of two different things.

The reason I went with it this way is that left clicking is the standard way of selecting objects and right clicking is usually used for getting information about the object.

I agree that it will take some getting used to though.

Rob I use the location assist to fine the end location of the last cabinet placed in the run of cabinets before I import. Then I import. The imported cabinet is placed at location zero by defalt and the edit window opens. I already know the end location of the last cabinet placed is the starting location for the imported cabinet without calculating in my head. I type in the location in the edit window and save.Without the end location in the bottom info strip it takes to long. Thanks Jim.

Ok, we were thinking of two different features. You were talking about right clicking a cabinet to get the little info window. Location assist is something else entirely.

Location assist-Checking this box will fill in the location box with the location + the width of the last saved cabinet in a job. This works only when planning a lob from left to right (with the Click & Drag feature disabled)

I will add the ending location to the info text box at the bottom of the window.

I added the ending location for when you first select a cabinet, after it moves it won't show it unless you re-select it again.

I also added this feature to the regular update.

Rob thanks for the ending location on the info bar. As I worked with my customer last Sunday he would ask how deep is that cabinet or how tall is that cabinet and I would have to open the edit window to find out. This is a very complex job. With this new feature I can now click on the cabinet in question to highlight it and the info streams across the info bar. I now realize that the cabinet depth should also be included on the info bar because its easy for the customer to find the answer to his question on the info bar rather than in the edit window. While your at it include distance from wall. You are doing a great job with Cabinet Planner. Thanks Jim.
