Water Resistant Finishes
Post by Abu on Jun 10th, 2011, 11:32am

I was wondering if any one uses, has used, or can recommend a particular finish that that holds up well in high moisture content areas; sinks and bathroom vanities.

Any input would be most helpful!

Thanks!

Tony,

I use ML Campbell's Conversion Varnish for all my vanities. My supplier says that is what he recommends, especially in bathrooms where steam and condensation are concerns. I suppose any conversion varnish would work wouldn't have to be ML Campbell.
That's my two cents.

Thanks for the reply Kent!

I've researched it further and have found lots of information on this product, including videos on YouTube!!

The process sounds rather involved but I suppose it's woth the extra effort for what you get in return.

Thanks!!

We used to use a moisture resistant lacquer from Sherwin-Williams. Don't know if it is still available, but we really liked it.
