I tried creating the same folder setup and it worked for me.
Try searching your system to see if you have two "xyz.cpdat" files.

Rob, there is only one file. Wondering if the problem had anything to do with starting with an older version file that I saved to my job folder, I creating a new file. The same problem exists - application launches with no cabinet data.
Here is some additional info that adds confusion to the problem. I created a new job called "Test CP File". A file was created in AppData\Roaming\CabinetPlanner\Test CP File.cpdat.
From within the application, I saved the file off to C:\Users\Dave Ber\Documents\Timberwolf\Timberwolf Cabinetry\Jobs\Whitcomb\test cp file.cpdat (specifically used lower case).
I can see both files using explorer, but only the file with the lower case file name is found using search.
I tried launching both files, but the results were the same.

Does the Program's title bar show the name of the file? With this release it should show the full file name of the file that is open:

When I start a new job, the file name on the title bar has the .cpdat extension. So does the title bar when I do a save_as.
If the file is opened within the app using File/Open, the title bar contains the file name with the .cpdat extension. If I double click the file name, only "Cabinet Planner" with no path is shown on the title bar.

When you added ".cpdat" to the file name did you use all lower case letters?

Yes - lower case extension. By the way, the default is .cpdat or you can type in on the end of the file name.

Install this version and let me know exactly what the notice window says when you open a file by double clicking it. Every thing after "CommandLine="

I'm not getting a notice window - just launches the application.
Some additional info for you. When I double click the file using File/Open/path it opens correctly. Just not from Explore.

Open the General Standards and put a check in the box labeled "Open most recent file on startup". Close the program and try opening a file by double clicking it.

I've fixed it so it will work whether or not the "Open most recent file on startup" is selected. Same link as first in post.
