Stringer Planner is a quick and easy program for laying out stringers for staircases. Simply enter a few sizes in the
Standards window such as your tread thickness and maximum rise for each step and then in the main window enter the
total rise. If you have a limited amount of space for the run you can enter that as well and it will adjust the depth of the treads
to compensate.
The drawing in the main window will show you the how the staircase will look and give you the minimum size for the
stairwell opening based on the amount entered for the headroom.
Click the Print Plan button to get a printout of the stringer, showing all the needed cuts and sizes as shown in the photo on
the lower right. It shows the total length of the stringer, the layout for the top & bottom cuts and the sizes for the step cuts.
The bottom photo shows how the step cutouts are laid out using a framing square. Its really quite simple.
